Grief

"And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed." Deuteronomy 31:8

The Grief Ministry Team is committed to providing spiritual support and comfort to our members by journeying with them through their grieving process; by extending to them the compassionate love of Jesus through continued care, prayer and a listening presence. Godly compassion is a requirement for those serving in this Ministry. The Team responds promptly with an anointing and spirit of excellence to the needs of those in our congregation that experience the loss of a loved one and we giving them the blessed assurance that Jesus will never leave them or forsake them, even in their time of need.

The purpose of this ministry is to minister to people when they experience death in their family. Too often the death of a loved one is devastating; the grieving process is lengthy and sometimes intense. Even mature Christians with a solid faith need ongoing comfort and encouragement during the grieving process. Those people without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ face a bleak mourning period. Without encouragement that comes from having eternal life, the issues that come with grief are amplified.

Our responsibilities include:

  • Attending all funerals for church members and immediate family
  • Going to the home of the family upon notification of a death
  • Other services are provided as the need arises
For further information, please contact the Church Clerk, Sis. Laverna Kemp, at (954) 943-2141.
